Building information modelling

What is BIM Technology? And How it is useful in Civil engineering? Building information modelling (BIM) The Building information modelling is used to plan design, construct, operate and maintain diverse physical infrastructures. It is a representation of physical and functional characteristics of places. The Building information modelling first appeared in a 1992 paper by G.A. van Nederveen and F.P. Tolman. The main  elements of the Building information modelling technique are -  Information People Policies Processes Technologies The whole BIM work include  Programming  Conceptual design Detailed design Analysis Documentation Fabrication Construction 4D/5D Construction logistics Operation and maintenance Demolition Renovation Uses of Bim

Green Buildings

What is Greeen Buildings ? Green buildings are the buildings which are designed and constructed in such a way that the use of the technology and materials is minimum which has harmful effects on environment. It means the green buildings are eco-friendly we use technology that are suitable for our environment and reduces the consumption of our energy resources less. It preserves our natural resources and improve imapcts of our life.  In green buildings we may assure that we should take full advantage of natural resources in our building by providing proper ventilation windows, lighting windows, thermal and sound insulation walls, which reduces the use of renewable sources for lights, fuel for heat and energy. The buildings should give it's occupants healthy and comfortable environment in all climates. 1. It should have all the proper safety devices. 2. It should be provided with potable water, having proper drainage, severage and rain water harvesting system.
